Restoration of the Trevi Fountain
Following the initiative of Tod’s entrepreneur Diego Della Valle and jeweler Bulgari who funded respectively the restoration of the Colosseum and the Spanish Steps, the famous Italian fashion house Fendi donated 2.12 million euros to restore the Trevi Fountain. This represents just the first of a series of projects intended to restore the historic fountains of Rome!
Built in the 18th century above an ancient Roman aqueduct and commissioned by Pope Clement XII, the Trevi Fountain represents today one of the most romantic landmarks in the city and one of the most visited attractions in Rome.
Indeed every year millions of tourists from all over the world go to visit the Trevi Fountain and toss the coin that, according to legend, will bring them back to Rome once again.
Restoration of the Trevi fountain is expected to be completed in 2015. Meanwhile the transparent suspended walkway, a plexiglass bridge, gives us a completely new and different point of view to admire the fountain.
